Oprah Winfrey’s favorite doctor, popular Dr Mehmet Oz, advises you how to properly brush your teeth, and how to whiten them naturally. Follow this five advice and keep your teeth white and your smile unforgettable.

Just two minutes

While you wait in a traffic jam, two minutes seem like an eternity. While playing in bed, two minutes flew in a heartbeat. Over the sink, two minutes is a time that you should spend washing your teeth, to clean them properly and remove plaque. Use a soft toothbrush and brush toward the gums, so that you can reach all the cracks and gums. Every two months change your toothbrush.

Clean the space in-between

In spite of advice given by dentists, doctors and friends, 80% of people do not clean their teeth with dental floss.

If you do not do this, 40% of teeth does not get clean. Dental flossing is considered more important for the prevention of dental caries and periodontitis than brushing.

However, you must know how to do it properly.

The proper way is as follows: thread should barely pass between the teeth and gently touch the gums. If you floss breaks, try to get a thicker one or one coated with wax or some made of Gore-Tex, or ask your dentist to grind contacts between the teeth. Wrong way: you cannot get into some holes in the end, and you pushing it with force, which causes bleeding gums.

Touching the upper and lower jaw

Teeth should not be touching unless when you are eating. Otherwise put the tongue between them. This will prevent contraction of jaw – and thus the bruxism and pain – which is associated with stress.

Proper posture

Improved posture will help you strengthen your back and muscles, so you will look slimmer, and the correct posture will naturally improve and correct assembly of your jaw. Stand up to see what is different with your jaw while it returns to its proper, healthy position.

Stain removal methods

It is quite certain that some foods leave stains on your teeth. The main culprits are red wine, coffee, tea, etc. Do not avoid these foods because they are extremely healthy, but instead confront the stains as follows:

When you eat foods that stain your teeth, keep a glass of water nearby. Sip after every few bites. Never miss brushing your teeth at evenings and wash them approximately thirty minutes after meal. Apples, celery and carrots act as natural stain removers, and green vegetables, like spinach, broccoli and lettuce, create a coating over the teeth which prevent stains.
