Exercising Too Much Can Make You Look Older

As we all know regular exercise is essential, especially nowadays when most of us sit in the office doing nothing physical all day. You probably already know that physical activity affects your health and looks.

By working out regularly you can stop different diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis, heart diseases and even cancer, plus you will be in shape and your skin will look younger. You have to know your limits because the training can actually make you look older as well.

This is not the reason to spot exercising. We are only advising you to adjust your training to your own capabilities. If you want exercise to work for you in order to make you healthy and younger you should never work out too much. It is all right to run couple of marathons now and then but if you go for pro marathon training, don’t be surprised when people misjudge your age.

It is all Cortisol’s fault


If you practice a lot, you will speed up your ageing process because you are putting your body under major stress.

Under heavy pressure your body releases cortisol which can lead to depression, insomnia, premature aging of skin and it can even weaken your memory capabilities.

Many studies are supporting these claims, showing that cortisol is killing collagen and elastin which are essential for maintaining youthful appearance.

Other suspects

If you like to practice outside you should know that sun can leave some markings on your skin as well. Also if you take your exercise very seriously then you are probably basing your diet mostly on proteins which is not so good for your skin.

What to do?

You shouldn’t stop practicing any time soon because we haven’t yet found any better way to keep you healthy, young and beautiful. So keep exercising but don’t push it too far. Try to find a balance – three trainings a week combined with everyday walk (don’t forget to use the sun cream for protection) would be more than enough. Add a balanced diet to that and you won’t have any issues staying young and beautiful.

When it comes to balanced diet, it should always consist of carbohydrates, proteins and a lot of fruits and vegetables. Only this way you can be sure that your body is getting everything it needs. Stay away from different supplements mainly because they can’t replace natural organic foods.
