1. Healthy Food
Eating healthy is most important in the fight against aging. Aging is a decadence of organs, and it is most visible on skin. Therefore if you provide your organs with healthy food, you will literally slow down the aging process. Try to consume all the nutrients necessary for the proper function of your body.
Eat vegetables, nuts, seeds and fruit and organic should be your first choice. Avoid fast-food and sweets. Optimal nutrients for your health can be found in fresh food. Beta carotene, vitamin C, selenium, zinc, vitamin E are essential and they can be found in vegetables, fruits and seeds. Antioxidants help cellular regeneration, and they help in production of collagen and elastin which keep your skin wrinkle free.
2. Enough of sleep
Beauty sleep is not just a myth. If you don’t get enough of sleep, dark circles under eyes will show and your eyelids will be tired. This does not look good and it adds quite few years more to your appearance.
Needless to say that there are not a lot of people out there who find this attractive. Also if you are constantly sleep deprived, you will look stressed and tired. Beware that lack of sleep is often linked to high blood pressure, weight gain, diabetes and many other health problems. It is expected that you can’t get 8 hours of sleep every single night but try to do it as often as you can and your whole body will be thankful.
3. Exercising regularly
People usually work out only when they’re trying to lose weight, they don’t realize other benefits of a good workout. There are many studies confirming that regular workout helps you to stay young and to prolong your life.
Exercising daily will boost production of testosterone, dopamine and other beneficial hormones which help you stay healthy. You will improve your blood pressure, your mood and you will stay strong and flexible. Try to work out for 30 min every day, or at least 3 times a week. It does not have to be in the gym, you can go walking or cycling or even dancing. Staying active is the important part, and how you will do it is completely up to you.
4. Drink a lot of water
Drinking a lot of water is essential for younger skin and younger body. In the process of moisturization, skin is also supplied by essential nutrients. If you don’t drink a lot of water your skin will look dry, tight and it will look older.
The skin that is not moisturized enough gets wrinkled easier. Water is also essential for the health of the entire organism and all of your organs. To consume enough water, drink it a lot, but you can also eat food that contains a lot of water like cucumbers, tomatoes and eggplant that are water in over 90 percent of its structure. Watermelon will also keep you hydrated and it will provide some of essential nutrients.
5. Avoid sugar
Eating a lot of sugar will not just give you few pounds but it will have direct impact on your skin and wrinkles.
Scientist linked sugar to aging directly, because sugar in a bloodstream attracts proteins and with them forms new molecules that are harmful to your body, especially to your skin. The solution is to avoid sugar as much as you can. If you can’t get rid of sweets, try to eat dark chocolate that does not have a lot of sugar in it. Eat a lot of fruits that contain natural sugars and avoid everything that contains refined one. It is not going to be easy but it is going to be worth it. When you get used to avoiding sugar you will feel huge difference.
6. Do not smoke
Smoking is a very unhealthy habit and it is time to get rid of it if you want to stay young as long as it’s possible. Smoking is one of top reasons for premature deaths, so throw them away without thinking.
It increases the risks for other health issues like cancer, heart disease and dementia. Tobacco tarnishes your skin and make wrinkles more obvious. It is known fact that smoke from cigarettes contains over 4,000 toxins. They make your blood vessels contract and your organs don’t get enough of the oxygen. Production of collagen is reduced also due to smoking and your skin is getting thinner over the years. So these reasons should be enough for you to stop smoking once and for all.
7. Avoid alcohol
In small amounts it can be healthy, but almost nobody drinks alcohol in such small amounts, so it is rarely a healthy thing.
Drinking alcohol dehydrates you and in the process it takes out vitamins and minerals from your body. Liver is doing extra work to eliminate everything that is unhealthy and of course it is more efficient if impurities from alcohol are not present. If you drink too much you will have trouble with a lot of organs or you could even end up on rehab, which is the biggest stress you can do to your organism. So the bottom line is one drink every now and then is ok, as long as you keep it in moderation.
8. Wear the sunscreen
Sun can be very damaging to your skin, it can cause wrinkles, spots, and it also dries it up making you look older than you are.
We are not saying that you should avoid exposing yourself to the sun (how can you produce vitamin D otherwise), but only to protect yourself from its damaging effects. It is recommended to use SPF 15 or higher for your face and neck, and not just during the summer but on winter days as well. You can think of it as an anti-aging daily cream. Enjoy the sun with right kind of product and don’t worry about UV rays. You don’t have to use it if you are staying outside less than 15 min.
9. Wear your sunglasses
Getting out in a sunny day without your sunglasses means you are going to squint all day. And that is one of the ways to make wrinkles that never go away. They are also the most obvious and the hardest to conceal.
Wearing your sunglasses prevents you from squinting while protecting sensitive skin around your eyes from direct sun. They are also an awesome fashion detail which you can combine with your favorite piece of clothing. Wear them whenever the sun is shining, not just during the summer. If you are going to have wrinkles from some kind of facial expression, make sure that they are direct result from smiling and laughing, they are worth having.
10. Keep your weight in order
Keep your youth by keeping your weight in order. If you are losing and gaining a lot of weight in short intervals, that can be more dangerous than being a little bit overweight.
It causes the skin to stretch and get loose multiple times, which makes it look older. The ideal solution would be if you can get your body in normal shape and normal weight and stay there. But that is rarely the case. In any case avoid diets that promise quick weight loss, because when you finish them you will get those pounds back in short period of time. Try to eat healthy, exercise regularly, avoid sugar and you will get better and more permanent results but it will take longer to achieve it.
11. Avoid heavy makeup
Special occasions demand special makeup, but in everyday life try to avoid wearing heavy makeup. Natural look is more popular than ever, so embrace it whenever you can.
Wearing foundation or powder closes pores preventing them from doing their basic function. Some people’s lifestyle or a job are not allowing them to stay away from makeup so if you are in this kind of situation make sure to remove makeup every night before you go to sleep, and make sure to do it very thoroughly. After that, moisturize your skin well. These few minutes every day will make big difference for the appearance of your skin. Besides all that, believe it or not, most men prefer natural look.
12. Be happy
This is something that is easier said than done, but do your best to fulfill it. Forgive to people, don’t hold grudges, fill your life with love and appreciation and kick out everything negative.
If you are in a state of constant stress and pain, it will all show up on your body and your physical state. Do yoga, meditation or some other form of exercise that will release your stress. Focus on positive things in your life, smile as much as you can. Appreciate nice things when they happen to you. Bottom line – Be Happy, all the time, because happiness is good for you physically and mentally, needless to say that you will enjoy your life to the fullest.
