3 Ways To Alleviate Or Prevent The Appearance Of Stretch Marks

Although stretch marks are scars that are very difficult to remove, what you can do is to ameliorate skin so that they are less visible or even prevent their occurrence. Stretch marks are basically damage or cracks in the skin that occur when the skin is suddenly and rapidly stretched.

In those moments, the skin is not elastic enough and that causes big and minor lines, that are nonetheless scars. But their formation can be prevented or at least mitigated. The skin has certain elasticity, just like rubber.

But when it reaches its maximum, rupture of tissue occurs in the body, which is manifested in the form of stretch marks – the unappealing lines on the skin that usually appears on the hips, thighs, stomach and chest, caused by a sudden gaining and losing weight, rapid growth and pregnancy. Intensive anti-wrinkle creams contain vitamin E, which helps with skin renewal, thus reducing stretch marks.

Also, this type of cream contains an ingredient that stimulates the production of collagen, which restores the skin.

It is a vitamin A, or retinol, which nourishes the skin and improves its elasticity.

Nutrition

Proper and healthy diet has a dramatic effect on entire organism, and it does a lot for the skin. It increases the elasticity and prevents the formation of cracks in the skin or stretch marks.

Foods rich in antioxidants
– eat a lot of spinach, wild berries such as blueberries, currants, strawberries, chokeberry, raspberries and blackberries.

Foods rich in vitamin E – Include in your diet – nuts, sunflower seeds, eggs, olive oil and wheat germ.

Foods rich in vitamin A – eat carrots, cabbage, kale, liver, fish, pumpkin, milk and milk products, butter and fruits such as apples, peaches, pears and apricots.

Hydration of the skin

To maintain its elasticity, i.e. the ability to stretch the skin it should it should be moisturized inside and out. Internal hydration refers to a sufficient amount of the drinking water. On the other hand, the skin should be regularly treated with moisturizing creams and lotions for the body, but also oils, among which almond and olive oil are best. Apply oil on wet skin after showering and wait until it get absorbed and then put your clothes on. Repeat the process after every shower.
