2 Ways To Use Apples In Desert

As some of you already know, apples can be magical when it comes to making deserts. Here are two of our favorite recipes in which apples are main ingredient.

Cake with chopped apples

For dough

• 150 g of flour
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• 1 nutmeg
• 1 vanilla sugar
• 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon
• 150 ml of oil
• 200 g of sugar
• 3 eggs
• 3 apples

For filling

• 500 ml of milk
• 1 sachet of vanilla pudding
• 100 g of sugar
• 200g of butter

For decoration

• 100 ml of milk
• 1 sachet cream

We begin with the preparation of dough. Smash eggs in bowl for whipping, add sugar and mix it with mixer until the sugar dissolves. Add the flour, cinnamon, oil, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Stir with a spoon until the mixture is uniform. Grind nutmeg in the mixture. Peel the apples, cut them into small cubes and add to the bowl. Stir mixture and apply it to a round mold coated with cooking paper. Put the mold in the oven, bake 30 minutes at 200 degrees then remove it from the oven.

Now we begin with the preparation of the filling. In a pot on the stove put milk, sugar and pudding powder, stir well with wire. When pudding reaches required density, take the pan from the stove and let the pudding cool. In other bowl for whipping whip butter until it becomes fluffy. Add it to the cooled pudding and mix it until it’s uniform.

Take the dough out of the mold, put it on a tray and coat it with a filling. In bowl for whipping mix powdered cream and milk until icing reaches necessary firmness. Fill dessert bag with icing and decorate the top surface of the cake. Finish the decoration with red sugar flowers and green sugar leaves.

Apples and walnuts Wreath

You will need:

• 350 g of flour
• 40 g of butter
• 75 g raisins
• 180 ml of milk
• 5 g of dry yeast
• 1 vanilla sugar
• 70 g of sugar
• 100g of chopped walnuts
• 3 eggs
• 2 tbsp. of grits
• 1 tbsp. of apricot jam
• 3 apples

Put the butter, milk and vanilla sugar in a pot on the stove, stir. Take the pot off the stove when the butter melts and when milk heats up. Add the yeast and stir until the yeast is dissolved. Put the flour into the bowl and add the milk with melted butter and yeast. Add 40 g of sugar, 2 eggs, jam and raisins. Hand-knead the dough and leave it for 30 minutes to rise.

Peel the apples and coarsely grate it. On floured work surface put raised dough and using rolling pin extend dough in oblong crust. Strew the grated apples across the dough. Sprinkle it with grits and with the remaining 30 g of sugar and chopped nuts. Wrap the crust into the roll. Unite the ends of rolls and form a wreath. Put it in a baking pan and at every 5 cm slash it with scissors. Leave it to rise for about 30 minutes.

Take the remaining egg, brake it and separate yolk from the whites. Mix yolk and use chef’s brush to apply it on top of wreath. Put baking pan in the oven, bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees and remove it from the oven. Put the apple and walnut wreath on a platter for serving. Decorateit with slices of apples.
